Copywriter Zindzi Zevenbergen and artists Hedy Tjin and Brian Elstak joined forces for this book. Tjin and Elstak are both seperately known for their idiosyncratic drawing style, they can regularly be found in national newspapers (including de Volkskrant) and magazines. While Tjin works in colourful areas with felt tip pen in colourful areas, Elstak (winner Zilveren Penseel, 2018) uses watercolour in his sketcy, sharp illustrations. Now that the two drawing styles meet, something completely new is created. For Zevenbergen this is her debut as a writer.
Lennox is an eleven year old boy. He knows his father has to go to the Invisible Hospital every now and then, but why? When one day he finds the lucky pendant, in the shape of a golden sickle, that his father always had around his neck and never takes off, he decides to surprise his father with his friend Aya in the hospital. But once he gets there, he turns out to have lost the pendant along the way…
