On March 8 2021, International Women’s Day, ROSE Stories and Firma Twist published the Dutch version of the international bestseller Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls. This book contains 100 inspiring stories about Dutch women from then and now: from Anouk Teeuwe to Mata Hari and from Audrey Hepburn to Noraly Beyer.
Bedtime Stories for Rebel Girls – 100 Extraordinary Dutch Women is a collection of one hundred stories who go against the grain, choose their own path and dare to be who they want to be. Role models that are essential in break down deep-rooted and traditional stereotypes about how people should behave.
The stories are written by a collective of 16 female authors. In addition to lead authors Maria Lam and Sun Li, Dido Michielsen, Astrid Sy, Lara Nuberg, Najiba Abdellaoui and Elle van Rijn, among others, wrote some of the stories. The 100 illustrations were created by 48 different female artists.
For every book sold, one euro will be donated to: WOMEN Inc., S.P.E.A.K., De Bovengrondse, PLAN International Nederland and Stem op een vrouw.
