Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls – 100 Stories of Black Girl Magic is a tribute to 100 groundbreaking Black women and girls who made their dreams come true through their indestructible Black Girl Magic. The true fairy tales are curated by acclaimed journalist Lilly Workneh and the foreword comes from CaShawn Thompson, the mastermind behind the #BlackGirlMagic movement. ROSE stories also added ten inspiring Dutch women.
The book is an instructive journey through time in which contemporary heroes such as tennis player Naomi Osaka and astronaut Jeanette Epps alternate with historical heroes such as pilot Bessie Coleman and Emperor Taytu Betul. And don’t forget the homegrown heroes like politician Sylvana Simons, doctor Sophie Redmond, journalist Natasja Gibbs and spoken-word artist Zaïre Krieger. The book is the result of the work of Black female and non-binary writers, editors and illustrators.
